A New Addition to Parade’s Growing TDDI (Touch & Display Driver Integrated) Product Line, the TC3318 Offers a Slimmer Profile to Reduce the Display Panel Border Width
SANTA CLARA, California, 19 March 2019 — Parade Technologies, Ltd. (Taiwan OTC: 4966.TWO), today introduced the TC3318, an integrated display driver and touchscreen controller solution. The TC3318 extends Parade’s TDDI (Touch and Display Driver Integrated) product family and uniquely offers a slimmer profile COG (Chip on Glass) module profile. Like other Parade TDDI products, the TC3318 includes Parade’s exclusive TrueTouch™ touchscreen technology.
The TC3318 offers a slimmer profile COG package that is optimal for space-constrained, full screen smartphone panels. This slim profile avoids the need for a more expensive Chip on Film (COF) package commonly used on bezel-less and borderless smartphone displays.
The TC3318 is also the industry’s lowest power, single-chip, 540 channel RAM-less display controller and driver with integrated multi-touch touchscreen controller. It includes a 1:6 mux on the display source driver and supports up to 24 bit RGB color at resolution up to 1080 x 2520. It accepts a MIPI DSI v1.1 video stream, with up to four data lanes, with DSC v1.1 display interface compression.
The TrueTouch™ touchscreen controller, integrated into the TC3318, supports screen sizes up to 7-inches diagonal. It supports up to 10 fingers, a refresh rate up to 120Hz, force sensing, side touch, water rejection, and other advanced features.
“The TC3318 was developed for our panel customers to reduce the border width of their new generation of smart phone panels without sacrificing performance or quality”, said Jimmy Chiu, Executive VP of Marketing at Parade Technologies. “The TC3318 enables high display and touch performance in a form factor more suitable for full screen smartphone panels. Parade is a committed integration partner for the top-tier panels suppliers.”
The TC3318 utilizes Parade’s patented TrueTouch™ technology that has been deployed in over 1 billion touch devices. TrueTouch™ offer superior noise immunity, wet finger tracking and robust system ESD for in-cell displays. The TC3318 also integrates Parade’s Smart-Backlight™ with Content Adaptive Backlight Control (CABC), and Sunlight Readability Enhancement (SRE) to optimize power consumption. Advanced display features such as Smart Contrast, Edge Enhancement, Skin Color Preservation and White Point Adjustment enable display makers to provide life-like display quality.
The TC3318 is sampling now.
