The PS8740 addresses high-speed signal switching requirements for implementation of a USB Type-C connector on a USB host device that supports the VESA® DisplayPort Alt Mode Standard.

- Flexible USB Type-C switching supports all signaling combinations specified in USB Type-C and VESA DisplayPort Alt Mode Standards
- Supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 data rate of 5Gbps, and DisplayPort data rates up to 5.4Gbps (HBR2)
- Input equalizers on all inputs to overcome high speed signal loss in PCB and external cable
- Active drivers on all outputs to assure reliable signal integrity
- Automatic output driver adjustment for DisplayPort path utilizing field-proven AUX interception during link training (patented by Parade Technologies)
- Switching modes are pin controllable through GPIO or I2C control
- Ultra low standby power
- Supports auto power saving for DisplayPort and USB

- PS8740A, dual supply: 3.3V and (1.2V or 1.35V)
