PS8642 – MIPI® Dual Channel DSI® to eDP Converter

The PS8642 is a low power MIPI®-to-eDP video format converter supporting mobile devices with embedded panel resolutions up to 2560 x 1600. The PS8642 accepts one or two channels of MIPI DSI® v1.1, with up to four lanes per channel and a transmission rate up to 1.5Gbit/sec per lane. The device outputs eDP v1.4, up to four lanes with a link rate of up to 3.24Gbit/sec per lane.

- Compliant to MIPI DSI v1.1, D‐PHY v1.1 and DCS v1.1 specifications
- Dual Channel DSI with 1/2/3/4 lane scalability, transmission rate up to 1.5Gbps/lane
- Support for Video Mode only, up to WQXGA 2560 x 1600 (Dual Channel DSI) 24bpp or 2560 x 1440 (Single Channel DSI) 24bpp
- Supports the following pixel formats: RGB565, loosely RGB666, RGB666, RGB888 and RGB101010
- Supports pixel‐by‐pixel (Single Channel), Odd/Even‐pixel (Dual Channel) or Left/Right‐frame (Dual Channel) operating modes

- Compliant to VESA® Embedded DisplayPort™ Standard (eDP) v1.4
- 1/2/4 lane operation
- Link rates of 1.62, 2.16, 2.43, 2.7, and 3.24Gbps
- Configurable output swing down to 200mVpp
- Supports Full/Fast/No link training
- 18/24/30 bit RGB color output formats
- Optional DisplayPort SSC 0.5% down spreading
- Supports eDP authentication Alternate Scrambler Reset (ASSR)
