PS8627V – Automotive DisplayPort™/eDP -to-LVDS Protocol Converter
The PS8627V is a video protocol converter that enables ultra-wide displays with resolution up to 7680×1260@60Hz and 30bpp color depth. Its DP/eDP input with up to 4 lanes and an LVDS output up to 6 ports, making it suitable for modern automotive display applications. This technology simplifies system design and reduces costs by eliminating the need for a SERDES for audio/video transport in the automotive display module. The PS8627V serves as a bridge to upgrade existing automotive-grade LVDS panels to eDP interface. It takes advantage of the capabilities of newer SoCs and GPUs that use DP and eDP, providing high-speed data serialization, support for multiple displays. Channel equalization and Link training brings the advancement to enable direct, long-distance connections between the video source and the display. Additionally, eDP/DP ASSR and HDCP brings the protection of streaming premium content for in vehicle infotainment.
