The PS8559 is a bidirectional, 2-lane signal redriver that supports both PCIe (PCI Express®) Gen 3, with data rates up to 8.0 GT/s, and SATA, with rates up to 6 Gb/s. By supporting both PCIe and SATA it is ideal for SATA Express applications, and by supporting two lanes of PCIe, it is also ideal for M.2 interface applications. In a typically application the PS8559 is placed close to the PCIe or SATA connector to compensate for board losses and regenerate high-quality electrical signals for improved link reliability.
