The PS8353 is a bidirectional, 4-lane linear Redriver designed for DisplayPort (DP) 2.1a compliance, supporting up to DP UHBR20 per lane. It can be used on both the Source and Sink sides, as well as in active DP cables. The chip integrates programmable equalizers to recondition DP signals and offers flexible configuration of EQ and DC gain via strap pins, allowing tailored signal compensation for different scenarios. The PS8353 can automatically regulate the direction of the DP signal by monitoring voltage levels on the Hot Plug Detect (HPD) pins.

The PS8353 is energy-efficient, supporting full DP2.1a link power management. It detects sideband signals from DP mode (AUX) to optimize configuration and recognize power-saving modes. Operating on a 1.8V power supply, it is available in a compact, high-performance QFN package. The device features an automatic power-saving mode, which activates when a channel is idle for a predefined period. The channel exits this mode instantly upon detecting an active signal, resuming normal repeater function. This feature is particularly beneficial for power-sensitive applications.
