Parade Technologies to Showcase its Industry Leading DisplayPort™ Technology Products at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2008 Shanghai

Posted March 31st, 2008

Company will host system level live demonstrations of the world’s first 12.1” LED back-lighted WXGA notebook panel powered by its DP603 product; a 19” WSXGA desktop direct drive monitor panel controlled by its DP621 product; and the industry’s first 42” LCD TV equipped with a DisplayPort input.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 31, 2008–Parade Technologies Ltd., a leading developer of digital video display interface products announced today that it will be featuring its DisplayPort technology products at IDF 2008 Shanghai from April 2-3. The company will feature its products at the DisplayPort Technology Community of IDF 2008 at the Shanghai International Conference Center, booth number CE# 026.

“As an industry leader in DisplayPort technology and related products, Parade Technologies offers complete product suites and reference designs that address the PC and CE industry’s transition to supporting a digital video connection with the DisplayPort v1.1a standard,” said Jack Zhao, president and CEO of Parade Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Parade Technologies Ltd. and its United States marketing representative. “We are pleased with Intel’s strong endorsement and support of the DisplayPort standard.”

“We are excited about our collaboration with Parade Technologies and its product demonstrations at Intel’s IDF Shanghai DisplayPort Technology Community,” said Eric Mentzer, general manager of Intel’s Graphics Development Group. “Our new 2008 and future chipsets will support DisplayPort natively and we believe this technology has a very bright future ahead of it.”

Parade Technologies will introduce its new DP603 product, an LCD timing controller with DisplayPort receiver for notebook LCD panel applications. The DP603 provides a scalable and interoperable digital display interface together with a programmable timing control scheme for LCD panels on embedded systems. The DP603 consumes the same amount of power as existing embedded LCD panels with an LVDS interface. It also helps to dramatically reduce the amount of wiring from the notebook motherboard to the LCD panel to just three pairs of wire with two pairs on the DisplayPort main link and one pair on the DisplayPort AUX channel. The 8/10-bit encoding, data stream scrambling, Common Mode Logic I/O buffer, along with the support of the spread spectrum on both the DisplayPort interface and the interface to the column driver on the LCD panel, can minimize EMI shielding costs and also reduce EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) compliance efforts compared with existing interface technology.

Parade Technologies will also demo its DP501, DP601, DP621 and PS8121E products. The DP501 is a DisplayPort and DVI™/HDMI™ transmitter product that provides a scalable and interoperable digital display interface with an optional content protection interface to address broad applications in both PC and CE devices. The DP601 is a DisplayPort and DVI/HDMI dual mode receiver product that enables multi-functional monitor, or Digital TV, with DisplayPort and HDMI/DVI interface connections for existing and future digital sources from desktop PCs, notebook PCs and consumer electronic devices such as DVD and Blue-Ray DVD players, etc. The DP621 is an LCD timing controller with a DisplayPort receiver and it provides a programmable timing control scheme to address broad direct drive monitor applications on PCs and embedded display devices. The PS8121E product is a DisplayPort repeater and an HDMI/DVI level shifter that can apply to DisplayPort and HDMI/DVI cable adapter applications.

Parade Technologies will host a system level live demonstration of the world’s first 12.1” WXGA notebook panel powered by its DP603 product; a 19” WSXGA desktop direct drive monitor panel controlled by its DP621 product; and the industry’s first 42” LCD TV equipped with a DisplayPort input.
