The PS8926 is a bidirectional, 16-lane retimer (using a total of 32 data channels) that supports PCIe® (PCI Express®) Gen 4, with data rates up to 16Gbps.  It is low-latency capable and is ideal for applications incorporating high lane count PCIe bus widths such as workstations and enterprise data center systems including storage and servers.

As a retimer, the PS8926 removes unwanted and potentially error-inducing signal distortion introduced by cross-talk or system noise, or from physical interface loss including PCIe interconnect cables, PCB traces, and connectors.  The device enhances data transmission reliability and enables longer PCIe interconnect cables and/or PCB traces, enabling system scalability.
