DisplayPort 2:1 Multiplexer with Jitter Cleaning, DisplayPort v1.4 and Dual-mode compatible

The PS8461 is an integrated DisplayPort 2:1 multiplexer that is compatible with DisplayPort 1.4 and dual-mode DisplayPort signaling.  An internal retimer circuit is used for jitter cleaning both native DisplayPort signaling and the TMDS signaling enabled by Dual-mode operation.  DisplayPort link rates up to 8.1Gbps are supported, and TMDS data rates up to 6Gbps are supported enabling the support of HDMI 2.0b operation up to 40K@60Hz.  When used for native DisplayPort signaling, through the use transparent repeater operation the PS8461 main link output swing and pre-emphasis levels will response to link training between the DisplayPort video Source and downstream Sink.  When used with a dual-mode upstream Source, the PS8461 supports the Dual-mode AC coupled TMDS signaling that enables the support of DVI or HDMI Sink devices through the use of a downstream level shifting device such as a Dual-mode DP to HDMI adapter.
