DP501 dual-mode DisplayPort transmitter, DP601 dual-mode DisplayPort receiver, PS8121 DisplayPort repeater, and PS101 DisplayPort cable adaptor unleash the full potential of DisplayPort

SUNNYVALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–July 31, 2007–Parade Technologies, Ltd., a leading developer of digital video display interface products, announced today the availability of a full suite of DisplayPort devices. This product family consists of DP501 dual-mode DisplayPort transmitter, DP601 dual-mode DisplayPort receiver, PS8121 DisplayPort repeater and PS101 DisplayPort cable adaptor. These innovative products enable almost all conceivable DisplayPort usage scenarios including backward compatibility with DVI/HDMI.

DP501, a dual-mode DisplayPort 1.1 compliant transmitters chip, is capable of supporting advanced features such as WQXGA display mode, audio stream, DVI/HDMI and HDCP 1.3.

DP601, a dual-mode DisplayPort receiver, is an ideal chip for next generation DisplayPort enabled display panels and monitors. Like DP501, this product is also DisplayPort 1.1 compliant and capable of support WQXGA display mode, audio stream, DVI/HDMI and HDCP1.3. An MPU based design provides a highly flexible architecture. Moreover, both LVDS and Digital Video Out interfaces are supported for easy connection to video processor or timing controller chips.

PS8121, with built-in equalizer and pre-emphasis, is a powerful DisplayPort repeater that supports DisplayPort link training. Having been designed based on DisplayPort interoperability guideline, PS101 is a cable adaptor chip that can enable DisplayPort-to-DVI/HDMI cable adaptor to transmit TMDS electrical signals when it connects to a dual-mode DisplayPort transmitter. Together, PS8121 and PS101 products greatly improved the addressable market of DP501 and DP601.

“With the introduction of a complete family of DisplayPort devices, Parade is in a great position to accelerate the adoption of the DisplayPort digital video interface,” said Jack Zhao, President and CEO of Parade Technologies, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Parade Technologies, Ltd, and its United Stated marketing representative.

DP501 is housed in a 100-pin TQFP RoHS package; DP601 is in a 128-pin LQFP package; and both PS8121 and PS101 are in 48-pin QFN RoHS packages. PS101 is generally available now. Volume production of DP501 is scheduled in September, 2007, volume production of PS8121, and DP601 is scheduled in Q4, 2007, and in Q1, 2008, respectively.
