DisplayPort to VGA Converter, Optimized for Cable Adaptor Applications

The PS8617 is a video format conversion device that converts DisplayPort to analog VGA.  It uses low standby power and a small package size, and is designed to be used in cable adaptor (or dongle) applications.  It supports an external SPI bus ROM for the on-chip microprocessor.

DisplayPort Input Support:

  • Operates with 1 or 2 DisplayPort lanes
  • Link rates of 1.62Gbps or 2.7Gbps
  • RGB color format at 6/8/10/12-bits per component (bpc)
  • YCbCr 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 color formats at 8/10/12 bpc
  • Accepts DisplayPort standard SSC 0.5% down spreading

VGA Output Support:

  • Triple 8-bit,170MHz video DACs for support up to 24-bit color
  • Up to 1920×1200 resolution (WUXGA) @60Hz with reduced blanking
  • Output load sensing detects monitor connect / unconnect
